FISKE FOUNDATION DONATES TO WOLFEBORO ORGANIZATIONS (08/21/2020)
WOLFEBORO — The Fiske Family Foundation announced a series of gifts totaling $25,029.60 to support public education and recreation for six Wolfeboro-area public and non-profit organizations. The recipients are: The Nicolas J. Pernokas Recreation Park (The Nick), the New Hampshire Department of Transportation Sponsor-A-Highway program, the Wolfeboro Nursery School, The Children’s Center, Cornerstone Christian Academy, and End 68-Hours of Hunger. The Wolfeboro-area gifts are the most recent in a series of donations given by the Fiske Family Foundation since the global pandemic began in March, bringing the Foundation’s total gifted amount to $85,029.60 this year.
The $25,029.60 will be distributed to the local organizations with additional donations under consideration. Gifts of $3,500, $2,500, and $2,500 were given to Wolfeboro Nursery School, The Children’s Center, and Cornerstone Christian Academy respectively to support early childhood education and development. The NHDOT Sponsor-A-Highway program received $10,779.60 to help maintain two stretches of Highway 28 and 109, from the Wolfeboro/Alton Town Line to the Wolfeboro/Tuftonboro Town Line, for two years. The Nick received $3,250, of which $2,500 will be used for a new on-site office. And, a donation of $2,500 was provided to the Wolfeboro chapter of End 68 Hours of Hunger to help address food insecurity among school-age children in the community.
