A family on a mission

John Fiske, a native San Diegan born and raised in Rancho Penasquitos, is an alumnus of Poway Unified School District, having graduated from Mt. Carmel High School, Class of 2001. John credits much of his childhood development to available recreational and educational opportunities such as playing competitive soccer, camping with Rancho YMCA’s Adventure Guides program and participating in theatre, and speech and debate competitions. Following a family legacy at San Diego State University, John is among 10 other SDSU alumni in his family. After graduating from SDSU and entering California Western School of Law on a full scholarship at the age of 20, John began practicing law at age 23.

Courtney Fiske was born and raised in Rochester, New Hampshire. She graduated from Spaulding High School and succeeded as a multiple blue-ribbon winner in barrel racing competitions at N Bar H Ranch and other riding competitions and facilities. After graduating from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Courtney worked on nuclear submarines as a civilian electrician for the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. She is a proud mother of three very active boys. The Fiskes maintain homes in 4S Ranch in San Diego and Wolfeboro/Tuftonboro in New Hampshire.

John and Courtney Fiske share a passion for education and recreation as great equalizers of opportunity, regardless of background. For John and Courtney, supporting equal access to education and recreation means supporting healthy communities, including vulnerable and disadvantaged members of those communities. John and Courtney Fiske founded Fiske Family Foundation to support recreational and educational opportunities.
